During Christina’s time as a massage therapist, she has studied a number of therapeutic and relaxation modalities. She uses these techniques to help you address injuries, postural changes, and to help you relax with some me time. Some areas of specialized training include Prenatal Massage, Reiki, and Medical Massage.
Christina has a comprehensive Childbirth Education program that can be tailormade for your family. She will go over your concerns and will provide information about options that will make creating an informed birth plan easier. She even has a section that is just for those loving grandparents.
Traditional Moroccan Postpartum Care
Christina's interest in the child-birthing year, includes the postpartum period. She takes the time to learn different postpartum traditions, including Moroccan care. Through this tradition she offers in-home treatments such as vaginal steaming (to promote healing), hammam (traditional body scrub and massage), closing of the bones (Healing ceremony to nurture any woman that has been pregnant in her life).
We all know that life sucks sometimes. It can be hard to talk to those closest to you, especially if you are afraid of judgment or unsolicited advice. Well, there is none of that here! If you are just looking for a person to be your sounding board and vent to, then look no further. Christina is happy to sit there and listen to what ever it is you need to get off your chest. She is not a psychologist and nothing she says should be considered a diagnosis or prescription.
Infant Feeding Counseling
Christina became a Certified Lactation Counselor in 2016 through The Academy of Lactation Policy and Practice. She is now the second Licensed Lactation Provider in the state of New Mexico. This training allows her to help with questions about establishing breastfeeding and ensuring an appropriate latch. She understands that feeding from the breast is not the only way to feed your infant. As a result, she also provides non-judgmental information on formula feeding and combination feeding.
Private Yoga Session
Yoga is a wonderful way of getting your body back into alignment and helping you to manage your stress. Having a private session allows you to be able to focus on your strengths and your weaknesses, while reducing the potential for injury. At the end for savasana (a moment for integration) you will have the option for a guided meditation or quiet time to reflect on your session. Sessions are appropriate for all ages and situations, even pregnancy.
