Welcome to Spirited Wellness

Hello all, and welcome to Spiritual Wellness. This first blog is an introduction to my massage. My name is Christina and I have been a massage therapist since 2007. And I have dabbled in a number of different types of massage over the years. I have trained in various relaxation techniques, which means that I provide a pleasant stimulus to help the nervous system relax. I have, also, trained in a number of structural therapies, which means that I work with the body to help it regain posture, regain range of motion, and reduce pain or tension. I know massage can mean different things to different people, but for me, massage is a block of time where you get to be no one else but you. You drop away the title of mom or dad, you drop away the title of husband or wife, you drop away the title of employee or manager. So many times in our lives as adults, we forget to be just ourselves, and focus on our personal needs, as opposed to the needs of the world around us.

Massage is the time when you get to hand yourself over to a care professional who gives you the care, and yes even a little love, that you may need at the time. Now when I say love, I am referring to the natural human kindness that can be missing in our world today. Humans are in need of touch, and through the massage you are able to receive touch in a safe environment that is not sexual and where there is no expectation other than for you to have that need fulfilled. There are many ways to have the touch made for filled, including a hug from my loved one, or a little pat on the back.
